TDS Catch Income Solution FAQs

1.     What is the TDS Catch Income Solution?

The TDS Catch Income Solution ensures seamless matching between income and collections records as per books by automatically reconciling them with Form 26AS.

 

2.     What details are required for reconciliation?

·       Income: Customer-wise invoice details, including debit and credit notes.

·       Collection: TDS receivable recorded against the corresponding invoice number. (if available)

·       Form 26AS: Data in .txt format downloaded from TRACES.

·       LDC Master: Details of Lower deduction certificate, if any.

 

3.     What is the sequence for uploading templates in the TOI Solution?

·       Master Template: GL Code, Customer Master, and LDC details

·       Income and collection template

·       Form 26AS

 

4.     What is the maximum number of decimal places allowed for numerical values in the templates?

The maximum number of decimal places allowed in templates is two.

 

5.     Can LDC details be modified after upload?

Yes, if no amount is utilized from the threshold limit.

 

6.     What if the original invoice number and date for a credit note/debit note are not available?

You can enter "NA" for the reference number and date. These entries will be considered as orphan credit note/debit note and will not be considered in reconciliation.

 

7.     What if there are discrepancies between the name and GSTIN used in the income and collection templates and those in the customer master?

Such discrepancies will result in validation errors. The name and GSTIN used in the income and collection template must match those in the customer master.

 

8.     Does the tool accept negative values for credit notes?

No, for credit notes, the document type should be selected as CRN, and positive values should be provided.

 

9.     What is the maximum length allowed for invoice document numbers and reference document numbers in the templates?

The maximum length allowed for both invoice document numbers and reference document number is 16 characters.

 

10.  Is the collection template compulsory for running reconciliation in the solution?

No, collection records are not compulsory. The tool will reconcile income records with Form 26AS even without collection records.


 

11.  What if Invoice reference number is not available in TDS receivables GL?

If the Invoice Reference Number is not available in the TDS Receivables GL, the TDS receivable can be uploaded as ‘NA’ (unreferenced). In such cases, the solution will first identify the corresponding income in Form 26AS. Once a matching income entry is found, it will search for the TDS deposited as per Form 26AS within the unreferenced TDS receivables GL. Upon finding a match, the system will automatically map the unreferenced TDS receivable to the appropriate invoice.

 

12.  How does the system handle mapping of single receipt against multiple invoice document number?

When there is a single receipt number against multiple invoice document numbers, map the receipt to any one of the invoice document numbers. The solution will automatically reconcile the remaining transactions.

 

13.  Is TAN mandatory to upload in the customer master?

If TAN is not available, enter "NA" in the template. The solution will perform PAN to TAN mapping for those customers.

 

 

14.  What types of files can be uploaded to the TDS Catch Income Solution?

The solution accepts files in .txt format for Form 26AS and other master templates in.xlsx,.csv formats.

 

15.  How frequently should the Form 26AS details be updated in the system?

There is no limit on updating form 26AS. It is recommended to update the Form 26AS details quarterly to ensure accurate reconciliation.

 

16.  What happens if there are duplicate entries in the uploaded in Income template?

The system will flag duplicate entries and prompt you to review and correct them before proceeding with upload.

 

17.  How can we track the status of my reconciliation process?

The solution provides the status of the reconciliation process under the reconciliation history tab.

 

18.  How to resolve the error encountered during the uploading process?

Refer to the error file generated by the system. Common issues include incorrect file formats, missing mandatory fields, and data inconsistencies. Ensure all data adheres to the specified template formats.

 

19.  Can I generate reports from the TDS Catch Income Solution?

Yes, the solution allows you to generate various reports, including reconciliation summary and detailed transaction wise reconciliation reports.

 

20.  How does the system handle amendments to previously uploaded data?

If you need to amend previously uploaded data, you can delete the records and upload the corrected file. Users can reperform the determination and reconciliation.


 

21.  When to use Fresh or Incremental Reconciliation options available in the solution?

The TDS Catch Income Solution offers two reconciliation options:

 

·       Fresh Reconciliation:

Fresh reconciliation is used when performing the initial reconciliation after all templates have been uploaded.

Further, fresh reconciliation is used when significant changes have been made to the existing data.

 

·       Incremental Reconciliation: This option allows for the reconciliation of newly added or updated records without reprocessing the entire dataset. It is ideal for ongoing reconciliation process, ensuring that only the new transactions are reconciled, thereby saving time and computational resources.

 

22.  Does the solution offer any functionality for email notifications?

·       Yes, users will receive an email for events like completion of determination and completion of reconciliation along with the excel report as an attachment.

·       Further, users will receive an email reminder in case any LDC is expired or near expiry.

 

23.  Can we export reconciliation results for further analysis?

Yes, you can export reconciliation results into Excel for further analysis and reporting purposes.

 

24.  Can multiple users access the system simultaneously?

Yes, the solution supports multiple users with role-based access control, ensuring that users can work simultaneously while maintaining data security and integrity.

 

25.  What are the system requirements for using the TDS Catch Income Solution?

The solution is cloud-based and can be accessed via a web browser. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and a compatible browser for optimal performance.

 

26.  How are users informed about system updates and enhancements, including new features and regulatory compliance changes?

System updates and enhancements are released regularly to improve functionality, additional new features, and ensure compliance with regulatory changes. Users are notified about these changes through email.
